Our Lady of Mt Carmel Primary Wentworthville encourage students to become reflective and collaborative learners, and our environment engages our students in 21st century learning and teaching.

Students at Our Lady of Mt Carmel learn in well-resourced classrooms, with access to the Mercy Library and the benefits of expansive grounds.

Learning Spaces

We aim to make our students as comfortable as possible to allow them to concentrate on their learning. All learning spaces (classrooms, small group rooms and library) have reverse-cycle air conditioning units and classroom furniture to allow us to offer facilities suited to 21st century learning and teaching.

Mercy Library

The Mercy Library is a modern resource centre with access to laptops, data projector, and reading and learning spaces.

Classroom learning is supported by the Mercy Library, with extensive literacy resources, and resources and equipment for all the Key Learning Areas.

Information Communication Technology

Every learning space, from Kindergarten to Year 6, has an interactive whiteboard and/or interactive television, iMac laptop computers, iPads, and other devices to support learning. Our students in Years 4 to 6 have the opportunity to participate in the optional BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) iPad or Chromebook program, to support them in their learning.

Healthy Canteen

The wellbeing of our students is a major focus for our school. And a healthy canteen (based on the NSW Healthy Canteen Guidelines) provides a service for the purchase of lunch, snacks, fruit and drinks. The school canteen is operated by Farideh Moussa.

Playgrounds

Large artificial grassed and asphalted play areas with well-maintained gardens provide pleasant surroundings for recreation and outdoor learning. There are numerous playground markings to stimulate the children's playtime. Outside our Kindergarten learning space there is a large sandpit and grass area.

Catholic Out of School Hours Care (COSHC)

Before (6:30-9am) and After (3:10-6:30pm) School Care is available to parents in our school community. The COSHC is coordinated and run by the Catholic Education, Diocese of Parramatta.

Catholic Out of School Hours Care (COSHC) provides before and after school care for primary school aged children (Years K-6), in an environment that fully supports the Catholic ethos and the mission of the Catholic Church.

The COSHC service is safely located onsite, with access from the Smith Street gate. The COSHC centre offers a vibrant, friendly and caring environment for families in need of convenient before and after school care, as well as vacation care. Our centres are run in partnership with our schools and parishes, sharing the same Catholic values in caring for your child.
